Important: Calmera clinicians join as independent contractors, not employees. Compensation is production-based (a percentage of collected reimbursements) — not a salary, hourly wage, or guaranteed income. Actual earnings depend on caseload, payer rates, and collected revenue. Compensation terms are subject to healthcare-counsel review before finalization.

Clinician FAQ

Questions, answered

Is this W-2 employment or a contractor arrangement?

All Calmera clinicians join as independent contractors. You are not an employee, and no employee benefits are provided. You maintain full clinical autonomy over patient care.

What states can I practice in through Calmera?

We currently serve Maryland, Washington DC, and Virginia, with more states being added. You must hold an active, unrestricted license in each state where you see patients.

Do I need my own malpractice insurance?

Yes. All clinicians carry their own professional liability insurance with minimum coverage of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $3,000,000 annual aggregate.

How quickly can I start seeing patients?

Many clinicians begin seeing self-pay patients within 1–2 weeks. Insurance-credentialed patients typically follow 4–8 weeks after credentialing completion.

Is there a minimum hours commitment?

No. You set your own availability. Your compensation tier is based on weekly clinical hours and caseload, so higher engagement means a higher earnings percentage.
